We can almost hear Will Smith singing the opening to the iconic show. Although only being aired for 6 years (which seems a lot, but comparing to some other shows in the same genre, it’s not that much), Fresh Prince of Bel-Air created an unprecedented cult of fans. Perhaps because of its message and modern struggles and stereotyping, the show is still accumulating huge streaming numbers. The Banks mansion, iconic by with its classic Californian design, became a symbol of wealth, prosperity and design inspirations throughout the world. In an Instagram announcement, Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz in the show) told the world that the house is available for rent on Airbnb! If you are a die-hard fan of the iconic TV show, then this is an opportunity that you can’t miss!
Touted as “The Freshest Los Angeles Mansion Around,” the listing offers guests access to the master wing full of amenities inspired by the show. They can also head to the dining room complete with a throne and the posh backyard with a swimming pool and outdoor lounge.
Jordan sneakers line the bedroom closet, as do some of Smith’s outfits from the show ranging from “argyle prepster to all-star athlete,” according to the listing. There’s no kitchen access, but Smith wrote that “all meals will be provided and served on silver platters, of course.”
Guests will be greeted virtually by DJ Jazzy Jeff, as well as a socially distanced concierge to give renters a lay of the land.
This bedroom, suited for a King, is a teenage boy’s dream den. With the show’s iconic fashion memorabilia, such as the Jordan sneakers and caps perfectly displayed in the shelves, guests will feel like they are indeed the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
One of the most iconic decors of the whole house is Ashley Banks‘ bedroom. The young fresh princess had a pink paradise in her bedroom, typically found throughout California during the late ’80s to early ’90s in luxury homes. Heavily inspired by European palatial settings, her bedroom had all the key features of a young high-class girl.
We often wonder how the classic tv shows and movies would look like rebooted to our days and ages, but none of which would fit as perfectly with Circu Magical Furniture as Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Regarding our knowledge of the characters, we decided to try out and match them with some of our iconic designs. Who knows, maybe you’ll see your kids in those bedrooms too…
The main character, the trouble-maker and the beloved dreamer. This is how we would describe Will Smith in the show. Coming all the way from Philly to Bel-Air, the young protagonist would carry all of his dreams to the promised land, alongside some teenage boy street style and industrial vibes characteristic to Philadelphia. We chose this project, with the Rocky Rocket, as we believe it portrays the teenage dream of conquering the world while having fun along the way. Besides, the Rocky Rocket’s inbuilt speakers would allow him to blast his tunes and annoy his uncle all day long, while the RGB light would give him the feeling of being inside of the trendiest nightclub in LA.
Ashley Banks was one of the youngest characters in the show and by far the girliest one for her age. We would pick out this incredible project by Marcos Marcelino in Brazil where pink reigns over the whole room (like in her bedroom, in the show), and the Fantasy Air Balloon takes on the main stage, adding fantasy and infancy to the room, which is appropriate due to her age in the show.
Carlton often saw himself as a young king on his rise, ready to take on the world with little to no effort. Carlton was a more sober character, which is why we chose this setting for him. Grey walls and neutral tones take over the room, as the Kings and Queens Castle bed give the young king a kingdom to rule,
Hillary was, without a doubt, the poshest character in the show. The young, teenage girl who’d ask every day her father for money to buy clothes would have the trendiest decor ever. Lots of pastel shades, soft textures and a very Beverly Hills-like vibe.
The young, charismatic infant, born on the end of the 3rd season, would need the utmost fantastic nursery to be raised on.
