Camille Walala’s Villa Walala, in partnership with British Land, is an immersive and playful installation inside the heart of Broadgate.
Villa Walala is an exuberant colourful and unexpected architectural landscape that is part of the 400 events prepped to take place during this year’s London Design Festival. Built with vinyl, sealed PVC inners and high-strength nylon making it a ‘soft-textured building-block castle’.
The blocks are pinned to the ground and inflated by fans that take the flat forms and transform them into a vast and immersive temporary island of shape and colour that invites visitors to explore, play, relieve stress, and visually dominates the area.
You’ll be able to find squeezy stress balls and other surprises, and Villa is intended to bring a little joy into what may otherwise have been just a normal day at the office. Camille Walala transforms materials and spaces using her characteristic exuberant geometries and bold colours to inspire and stimulate her audience. Established in East London, Camille Walala has created numerous installations, objects, and experiences across the city and beyond.
The festival described it as a “building block castle”, that is typical of Walala’s bold, colourful style.
