It so happens that Tempo, a Tokyo-based brand, used this amazing luxury furniture piece in one of their boutiques. A maximalist, Asian-style store with a Western European scent. Tempo is a company that imports and sells fabrics for interior design and decor, such as towels, mats, upholsteries, amongst others, from southern Europe, from countries such as Italy and Spain. The Japanese brand currently has 2 boutiques in the country, in Tokio and Minami Aoyama, and they’re currently working on a third on.
The combination of lively a colour scheme, traditionally found in Southern Europe and an artistic and humorous design, is defined as “South European taste”. In order to make your daily life brighter and cheerful, the brand keeps looking for quirky things, infinitely overflowing all over the world day and night.
The Tokio Boutique has a maximalist style, typical of the major stores and brands from Asian countries. Nothing was left to chance, as every detail was thoroughly thought to make it work with one another. In a culture completely obsessed the ”Kauai” (roughly translated to ”cute”), the boutique is a huge pop of colour, having the Rocky Rocket taking the main stage.
The Rocky Rocket it’s a children’s interactive chair, painted in red and white checkered pattern. The moon rocket has become an iconic symbol for kids, while parents will recognize it from the adventures of Tintin, kids will relate it to Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story”.
This interactive chair features an educational light and sound system to foster curiosity and excitement among kids. It is built using top-quality materials such as wood, being robust in design and dreamy on the interiors, due to its red velvet upholstered interior.
The boutique, in order to match with their colour scheme, decided to go with white & blue checkered finish, bright yellow upholstery on the inside. The piece can be customized to the client’s wishes.
