CARRÉ LUMIÈRE: BE INSPIRED BY THIS IMPRESSIVE INTERIOR DESIGN GROUP
Mary McDonald is synonymous with style, and she was the first choice of Blandino and Johnson, two beauty gurus when it came to designing their newest and most luxurious California seaside home.
This French manor house’s great room has been updated for modern seaside living. And Jerrod Blandino’s closet transports us to a serene haven of luxury. White is the primary color in both spaces, with darker colors and gold notes providing a beautiful contrast.
Mary McDonald’s irreverence is a thing of beauty. Take a look at the library, for example. With rich colors and velvet textiles, the interior designer evokes a more opulent age, particularly reminiscent of a French hotel. One of the most colorful rooms in the house!
We arrive at the offices of Blandino and Johnson after a bold usage of brilliant colors. Both lustrous and sophisticated, but with different color schemes. Modern pastels meet traditional French components in Jerrod Blandino’s workplace, which is suited for royalty. Johnson’s office is a fresh take on an old-fashioned library, complete with vivid teal tones.
It’s an eclectic, modern classic, and a contemporary masterpiece all rolled into one. This magnificent home accommodates a variety of styles.
Or how about dramatic vs. upbeat? The master bathroom contrasts sharply with the guest powder room. The first emphasizes the magnificence of this French-style property, which is brimming with amenities. For the second, it’s safe to say Mary was dreaming of pink when she created this vivid yet opulent guest powder room close to the doorway.
Back to fundamentals, Mary McDonald’s refined and sophisticated streak shines through in the master bedroom, which also represents the owners’ sense of taste. A floral wall covering in the guest bedroom reflects the garden outside the French doors.
Mary McDonald is as sophisticated as she is exuberant, but always elegant in everything. We’ve seen both styles before and definitely can’t pick just one as our favorite. She is one of today’s most respected tastemakers, known for her exuberant and fearless approach to design, which is reflected in her glamorous and timeless masterpieces.
