What did your room look like when you were a kid? We’re guessing not exactly like these colourful, creative, and undeniably cool spaces. The bedrooms of these uber stylish children are lessons injudicious editing, inspired ideas, and damn good taste.
This modern project by 2Deco Studio shows how whimsical and quirky a child’s bedroom should be. The Cloud Lamps and the Moon Rug create a night time atmosphere vibe which adds comfort and fantasy to the design. The little house-like bed gives the child its own small real estate where it can dictate its own rules and fulfil its fantasies unbothered by the real world.
In the boys’ bedroom of a Canadian lakehouse, a grasscloth wallcovering is by Kravet, bedding is by St. Geneve Linens and Ralph Lauren, and the bedframes and nightstand are by CB2.
“I bought the poster twin beds [the second one not showed] long before I had a son. I knew they’d be perfect for a little boy’s room one day,” says Mandy Reeves of her Tennessee home via Country Living. She painted them a handsome shade of grey-green (Rosemary by Sherwin-Williams) that will easily transition from tot to teen. For now, they’re right at home alongside a fabric reindeer bust and dog prints (enlarged from Rifle Paper Co.)
Described as “a fun spot to chill, play, and dream,”this black and white bedroom in a Tribeca loft is a chic take on a traditional sports theme, with furniture by Oeuf, a custom Madeline Weinrib rug, lighting by Atelier De Troupe and Iacoli & Mcallister, and wallpaper by Ferm Living.
The girl’s room in that same loft has a magical and dreamy aesthetic achieved with a light and airy palette of whites and blush. A hand made swan by Tamar Mogendorf accents the wall.
For the girl’s bedroom, a playful style in the children’s room is centred around vintage artwork, such as the cast aluminium antlers purchased at auction. The side chair is vintage Milo Baughman, reupholstered in Rogers & Goffigon fabric, and the chest is from CB2. The accent table is from West Elm. A floor pillow, also from West Elm, enhances the youthful atmosphere.
The daughter’s bedroom in this Hampton’s townhouse features a vintage daybed upholstered in a Zimmer & Rohde embroidery, a Swedish cabinet, and a 1940s rocker found at a local antique shop and re-upholstered in romantic floral. The shade fabric is by Pindler.
