Your kid might never own a real McLaren, but he or she can at least experience one with the new McLaren 720S Ride-On. The tiny car is available to order now. If your little tyke already McLaren’s previous P1 ride-on, this model would make quite an addition to his or her collection of pint-sized machines.
Coloured in the Mclaren‘s heritage papaya spark hue or in bright light blue, little drivers enter the 720s via fully-functioning dihedral doors, donning exposed carbon-style elements and signature 720s styling cues. After putting a key in the ignition and pressing the accelerator pedal, the electric motor propels the car forward.
The mini 720S is powered by an electric motor operated by a working accelerator pedal with added engine sounds. A brake function switches on a brake light at the rear just like the full-size version.
There’s also a dashboard display screen that gives key information to allay any toddlers’ range-anxiety, which doubles up as an infotainment system that can play music of movies. A small playlist of songs is pre-programmed into the car, and the videos can be accessed by plugging in a USB or an SD card.
The 720S ride-on retails for $400 and is available for order. The mini model comes in a variety of characteristically McLaren colours. McLaren says that papaya spark will be available later in the year and only through McLaren retailers.
